Offer terms

What we are offering

We design and build a website for your nonprofit and we do not charge you for the build. You will get up to three finished designs of your own site to look at, you pick the one you want, and we put it on your address. Choosing one of these free concepts never costs anything.

If none of the first three feel right and you would like us to keep designing with you, that continues as a paid design package. $499 design package: if the first three are not it, we keep designing with you, up to 10 more revisions. Most organizations pick one of the first three.

There is no contract term, no setup fee, and no card required to start. We ask for a card before the first monthly bill, and not before.

What hosting costs, and when

Hosting is free for the first 2 months. Those months start the day your site goes live on its address, not the day you fill in the form, so time spent waiting on us is not time off your free period.

After that it is $15 a month. Cancel whenever you like, from your own back office, and the next bill does not happen.

A web address on our own domain is included at no cost, always. If you want your own domain name we will find it and buy it for you as an add on, usually between $10 and $25 a year depending on the name.

Fair use

The free period covers up to 5,000 visits a month, up to 5 GB of data transfer a month, up to 250 MB of stored photographs and video, and up to 12 pages.

These are fair use limits, not meters. If your site ever gets close to one of them we will get in touch before anything is switched off, and going over is a conversation rather than an outage.

The site is yours

Your words, your photographs, your logo, and your organization's information stay yours. Agreeing to this gives us permission to put them on the website we are building for you and nothing else.

We will also show your finished site as an example of our work unless you tell us not to, and telling us not to is one email.

If you leave, you take your content with you. We will export your pages, your people, and your records in a readable format on request.

Donations

The donation pages are built and they stay switched off until two things are true: your EIN has been checked against the IRS Business Master File, and your organization has finished its own Stripe onboarding.

That is a product rule rather than a preference, and it is why nothing here can take a gift on your behalf before then. When donations do open, money moves through your own Stripe account, to your own bank account. We never hold your donors' money.

What we may say no to

We may decline an order, and we may stop hosting a site, if the organization is not the charity it says it is, if the site is used to mislead donors, or if it is used for anything unlawful. We will tell you why.

We may also stop hosting a site that has been abandoned, after trying to reach you at the address on the order. Nothing is deleted without notice.

We build these by hand, so we may run out of capacity and hold new orders in a queue. If that happens we will say so rather than leave you waiting.

What this is not

This is a plain language description of one offer. It does not describe your organization's obligations to anybody else.
